Time Distance and Speed
Disha drives a car at an average speed of 48 km/h and reach her destination in 6 hours. Himanshu covers that distance in 4 hours. If Disha increases her average speed by 8 km/h and Himanshu increases his average speed by 4 km/h, then what will be the difference in time taken by them to reach their destination?
1) 1 47/133 hr
2) 1 41/133 hr
3) 2 47/133 hr
4) 1 40/133 hr
5) 1 45/133 hr
Read Solution (Total 7)
-
- 48=d/6
therefore, distance(d)=288km
himanshu's speed=288/4=72kmph
then, disha's speed=48+8=56kmph
disha's time=288/56=5.143hr
then, himanshu's speed=72+4=76kmph
himanshu's time=288/76=3.789hr
difference in time=5.143-3.789=1.354hr=1 47/133hr - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(28) No(8)
- distance=s*t =48*6 = 288 km
himanshu speed=288/4 = 72 km/h
disha new speed=48+8= 56km/h
himanshu new speed=72+4 = 76km/k
time difference= (288/56) - (288/76)
=180/133 => 1 47/133 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(3)
- 180/133 is the answer
- 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(3)
- distance=48*6=288
himanshu's speed=288/4=72
new speed of disha=48+8=56
new speed of himanshu=72+4=76
tome difference=288/56-288/76=1 47/133 hr - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(3)
- answer 1 47/133 hr
