given that
- same size and same tensile force
-elongation in the ratio of 2:5
lets take E1 and E2 as modulus of elasticity of bar 1 and bar 2
Elongation of bar 1:Elongation of bar 2 = 2:5
E1=(tensile stress/tensile strain) = (p/A)/strain (elongation of bar 1)
E1 = (p/A)/2
and
E2 = (p/A)/5
E1/E2 =((p/A)/2)/((p/A)/5)=5:2
Hence the answer is 5:2
