The foot of a ladder is 15m long, is 9m from a house and its top reaches the upper part of a circular window. When the foot is drawn to a distance of 3m away from the house, the top reaches the lower edge of the window.
It means , earlier it reached Root (25^2-9^2)= 12 m height.
now it is reaching up to Root (25^2-12^2)= 9m height.
so dia of circular window = 12-9= 3m
radius = 3/2 mtrs
area of window = Pi*r^2 = (22/7)*(9/4) = 99/14 sq mtrs = 7 1/14 .. option 3 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)

There is a circle of radius 1 cm. Each member of a sequence of regular polygons S1(n), n = 4, 5, 6 ……, where n is the number of sides of the polygon, is circumscribing the circle, and each member of the sequence of regular polygons S2(n), n = 4, 5, 6 ….., where n is the number of sides of the polygon, is inscribed in the circle. Let L1 (n) and L2 (n) denote the perimeters of the corresponding polygons of S1 (n) and S2 (n), then, find the range of {L1 (13) +2π} / L2 (17)? 1) Greater than π / 4 and less than 1 2) Greater than 1 and less than 2 3) Greater than 2 4) Less than π / 4
A bird starts flying from a place O towards B via A. There is no wind resistance from O to A. But there is uniform wind resistance between A and B. To travel from O to B the bird takes 12 minutes, whereas to travel from B to O via A, the bird takes 14 minutes. Had there been wind resistance between O and A also (which equals that between A and B), the bird would have taken only 11 minutes to travel from O to B. O, A and B are collinear.If there was the same wind resistance between O and A as between A and B, what would be the time taken by the bird to travel from B to O? 1) 12.5 min 2) 15.4 min 3) 18.2 min 4) none of these
