P says to Q "I am thrice as old as you were when i was as old as you are". If the sum of their present age is 100 years, then the present age of Q?

  Now, Sum of their present ages is 100 so,
  3y+x=100;
  
  And since equal no. of years has passed between the Past and Present, so
  3y-x=x-y;
  
  On solvinf these two equations we get
  x=40, y=20.
  So present age of Q is 40(i.e. x) and P is 60(i.e. 3y).

  Years passed= x-x/3=2x/3(subtracting age of q)

  difference between their ages = x - (100 -x) = 2x - 100 ----> (1)
  
  when P’s age was 100 - x
  Q’s Age must be (P’s age - their age difference)
  
  Q’s past age = (100-x) - (2x - 100) = 200 - 3x
  
  it is given that P present age is thrice the Q’s past age:
  
  => x = 3(200 - 3x)
  10x = 600

  Take the statement (i) assuming q=25,
  p+25=100
  p=75,q=25
  Here statement (i) comes p=75 is 3 times high than q=25 (i.e 25*3=75)
