  after paying the auctioneer it at 5% ,he found that he had made a profit of 5% ,
  so 4200-5% of 4200 which gives you Selling price.
  so SP=4200-((5*4200)/100)
  = 4200-210

  now CP=(100*SP)/(100+Profit%)
  = (100*3990)/(100+5)
  = 3800
