Bottle A is 40% filled with water and Bottle B is 30% filled with water, Another Bottle C can be completely filled by pouring either 10% of the content of bottle A or 20% of the content of bottle B. What is the ratio of the capacity of bottle A to bottle B?
Read Solution (Total 3)
-
- 10% of 40% of A = 20% of 30% of B
=> 4% of A = 6% of B => 4A = 6B
=> A/B = 6/4 = 3/2 = 3:2 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- Let capacity of A = x and capacity of B = y
ATQ,
Content of A = 0.4x and content of B = 0.3y
Hence , Total capacity of C = 10% of content of A = 20% of content of B
=> 10% of 0.4x = 20% of 0.3y
=>(0.4/2)x = 0.3y
=> x/y = 6/4
=>x/y = 3 : 2 - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- 10×40/10000=a
20×30/100/100=b
A:b =2:3 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
