• let speed of boat in still water = xkm/h
  a/q qn current speed = x/4
  up stream speed = x-x/4=3x/4km/h
  so 9.6 = 3x/4*24/60
  x= 32km/h
  current speed = x/4 i.e 32/4=8
  then speed of boat in upstream =32-8=24km/h
  downstream speed= 40km/h
  distance travelled in downstream = 40*36/60=24km
