the formula is by comparing both of them.
( (m1*d1*h1) /w1 ) = ( (m2*d2*h2) / w2)
from above problem,
m1= x men
d1 = x days
h1 = x/2
w1 = 1 unit
similarly,
m2 = y men
d2 = x days
h2 = y hours
w2 = ?
substituting the above in the formula,
(x*x* (x/2) )/1 = (y*x*y)/w2
