The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 1/3:1/4:1/5 and its perimeter is 204 cm. What is the length of the longest triangle?
Read Solution (Total 4)
-
- 86.8 cm
Given the ratio of sides= 1/3 : 1/4 : 1/5 = 20/60 : 15/60 : 12/60 = 20 : 15 : 12
Let the sides be 20x, 15x and 12x then Perimeter= 20x+15x+12x = 204 cm.
=> x= 204/47
So the longest side=20x =20*(204/47)= 86.8 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(2)
- let the sides of triangle be x/3,x/4,x/5
therefore x/3+x/4+x/5=204=4080/47=86.8 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- let side be x, therefore x/3,x/4,x/5
EQUATIONS:
x/2 + x/3 + x/4 = 104
6x+4x+3x=12*104
x=98,x/98= 48 ans is 48 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(6)
- LCM of (3,4,5) is 60
so 20x+15x+12x=204
x=204/47=4.34
length of the longest side= 20x= 20*4.34= 86.8cm - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
