- as rate of filling water of B doubles in an hour
so, 1/16 in 3 hrs
2*1/16 in 4 hrs
2* 1/8 in 5 hrs
2*1/4 in 6 hrs
2*1/2=1 in 7 hrs
so ans is 7 hrs. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)

- let full tank contains x ltr.now as it is a g.p series..after 3 hours the part of tank full t21=10.2^2=40 ltr..
now we can see x/16=40 =>x=40*16..now let it tank n hours to fill the tank completely..so
x=40*16=10.2^n-1
=>10.2^2.2^4=10.2^n-1
=>n-1=6
=>n=6+1=7 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
