Exam
A vessel contain milk and water in the ratio 3:2. The volume of content is increased by 50% by adding water to this. From the resultant solution 30 L is withdrawn and then replaced with water. The resultant ratio of milk and water in the final solution is 3:7. Find original volume of the solution ? 1) 120 2) 80 3) 60 4) 48

- 80 litres
suppose original sol had 6x ltr milk and 4x ltrs of water in 10x ltr solution.
Adding water to increase it by 50% means
6x milk and 9x ltr water in 15 x ltrs.
From the resultant solution 30 L is withdrawn and then replaced with water.
Then milk is 6x-12 and water is 9x+12 ltrs.
(6x-12)/(9x+12)=3/7
x=8
so original sol is 10x=80 ltrs.
