Let the present age of husband be x years and wife be y years.
(x+y)/2=23
Therefore x+y = 46
Now after five years, husband's age will be (x+5) years and wife's age will be(y+5) years.
The average of husband, wife and child after 5 years of marriage will be ((x+5)+(y+5)+1)/3 years.
i.e., (x+y+11)/3 years.
Putting x+y= 46, we get average=(46+11)/3= 19 years.
