a cistern has a leak whick would empty in 8 hours. a tap is turned on, which fill the empty cistern 6 litres a minute. and the cistern is now empetied in 12 hours.the cistern can hold??

  As leak can empty in 8 hrs, so in 1 hr, it can empty x/8 litres per hour.
  Volume filled by tap in 12 hrs =Volume emptied by leak in 12 hrs.
