If we apply alligation we do not get the ans and normal procedure gives -9 which can not be correct - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(0)
- the total cp of type a rice is 18*45=800
let the no.of kgs of rice b is x
total cp of type b rice is x*35=35x
total cp=800+35x
18+x kg of rice cost is 800+35x
1kg cost is (800+35x)/(18+x)
sp=(100+g%)/100 *cp
54=120/100 ((800+35x)/(18+x))
x=9kg - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(5)

let no. of kgs of rice b is x
c.p. of rice a =12*40=480
c.p. of rice b=24x
avg. price of rice mixture=480+24x/12+x
calculate c.p. of the mixture with
c.p. =s.p.*100/(100+gain%)
so, price of the mixture is 45*100/100+25=36
therefore,480+24x/12+x=36 =>x=4 - 2 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
