a father can finish a work in 8 days after working for 3 days his son joined him and remaining got finished in next one day if son works alone how many days does he take to finish the work?

Work done by father in 3 days = 3*(1/8)=3/8
Remaining work = 1 - 3/8 = 5/8
Let son alone takes 'x' days to finish the work and remaining work is finished in 1 day.
So, 1 day work of father and son = 1/8 + 1/x = 5/8
=> 1/x = 1/2 or x=2
Hence son alone takes 2 days to finish the work.
