In a certain game, players have three chances during each turn to earn points. Each consecutive win awards more points than the previous win. The second win awards 75 points more than the first, and the third win awards twice as many points as the second win. Tesia won the maximum number of points during her turn and received a total of 460 points. How many points are awarded for the first win?
Read Solution (Total 1)

- Let the points in the first win be "x"
Second Win = 75+x
Third Win= 2(75+x)= 150 + 2x
Therefore,
460 = x + x + 75 + 150 +2x
4x = 460 - 225
x = 235/4 = 58.75 points. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
