• Let the capacity of glass is 15 unit.
  Milk in first glass = (1/3)*15 = 5 units
  
  Water in first glass = 15 - 5 = 10 units
  
  Milk in first glass = (2/5)*15 = 6 units
  
  Water in first glass = 15 - 6 = 9 units
  
  total milk = 5+6 = 11 units
  
  total water = 10 + 9 = 19 units

• let us assume capacity of glass as x
  
  so, milk in the glass is x/3 and 2x/5
  
  therefore filled with water
  
  quantity of water in glass is x-x/3=2x/3 and x-2x/5=3x/5
  
  now both glasses are mixed in a tumbler
  
  So total quantity of milk there is x/3 + 2x/5 = 11x/15
  
  Total quantity of water is 2x/3 + 3x/5= 19x/15.
  
  So the ratio of milk to water is (11x/15) / 19x/15=11/19 (this is the ratio)

• the water in first glass which 1/3 part full by milk = 1-1/3=2/3 part.
  the water in the second glass which 1/4 part full by the milk=1-1/4=3/4.
  Total water in the pot=2/3+3/4=17/12.
  total milk in pot=1/3+1/4=7/12.
  ratio=7/12÷17/12 = 7:17 ans.
