  2,2,4,2,2 are in the form a,b,a+b,2,a+b/2

  (2,2,4,2,2) 2+2=4/2=2
  (4,3,7,2,?) 4+3=7/2=?=3.5

• Break the series as below

  0+1=1
  1/2=0.5
  
  2+2=4
  4/2=2
  
  4+3=7

• This series can be broken down into a series containing 3 parts with each part containing a series in itself.
  That is
  0,1,1,2,0.5//2,2,4,2,2//4,3,7,2_
  
  Now note that each part consists of terms of form
  a,b,a+b,2,(a+b)/2
  
  So the answer should be (4+3)/2=3.5
