G/L=2/3 => 2L - 3G = 0 ---(i) and
(G+20)/L=3/2 => 3L - 2G = 40 ---(ii)
Solving (i) & (ii), G=16, L=24
Therefore, number of ladies in the party was 24.

2x+20 : 3x = 3:2
=> 5x = 40
