Out of a group of ducks, 7/2 times the square root of the total number are outside the pond. The remaining 15 are inside the pond. Find the total number of ducks.
1)16 2)25 3)36 4)49
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- Let x be the total no. Of ducks.
Then ducks outside the pond= 7/2✓x
X=7/2✓x+15
Let x=y^2
Y^2=7/2y+15
Y^2- 7/2y-15=0
Y(y-12/2)+5/2(y-12/2)=0
Y=6
X=y^2=36
So,Total no. Of ducks is 36 - 4 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- 7/2 * ✓36= 21 are outside the pond
And remaining 15 are inside the pond.
So the no. Is 36. - 4 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)

When 100 is to be successively divided by 6, 3, 4, first divide 100 by 6. Then divide the quotient 16 by 3. Then divide the quotient 5 by 4. A number when successively divided by 5, 3, 2 gives the remainder of 0, 2 and 1 respectively in that order. What will be the remainders when the same number is divided successively by 2, 3 and 5 in that order?
