The diameter of a circle A is (a+b) units. Find the radius of a semi-circle whose area is 300%more than that of circle A.
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- Given, diameter of a circle A=(a+b), so Radius=(a+b)/2 and Area=Pi*[(a+b)/2]^2
.'. Area of a semi-circle=Pi*[(a+b)/2]^2 + (300/100)*Pi*[(a+b)/2]^2=4*Pi*[(a+b)/2]^2
Let Radius of semi-circle=R, then Area of Semi-circle=Pi*R^2=4*Pi*[(a+b)/2]^2
=> R^2=4*[(a+b)/2]^2
R=(a+b)
Hence radius of a semi-circle=(a+b) - 2 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
