It is dark in my bedroom and I want to get two socks of the same color from my drawer, which contains 24 red and 24 blue socks. How many socks do I have to take from the drawer to get at least two socks of the same color?

  The probablity of taking 1Red socks from 24 red= 24 C 1= 24/1 =24
  The probablity of taking 1Blue socks from 24 Blue= 24 C 1= 24/1 =24
  So the total probablity of taking 1Red n 1Blue Socks= 24+24=48.
  So 48 will be the answer..

  bcoz first we pick one socks it might be red or blue.then there is a possibility that in the next 24 picks it might be the different coloured socks from the socks we picked earlier..so after these 25 picks the next coming socks would definitely be of our first picked colour socks

  for first pick suppose it comes a red one. But then for the next 24 times it becomes all blue. Then only we can get an another red shock. so total 25 for minimum one same pair.
