- Let the total cost of goods be x
.4x * 1.1 (40% goods sold at a profit of 10%)
.6x * 0.95 (60% of goods sold at a loss of 5%)
.44x + .57x = x + 100 (Right hand side represents sale proceeds including profit)
1.01 x - x = 100
.01x = 100
x = 100/.01 = Rs.10000 (Cost price of goods sold). - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(0)
- consider there is 100 goods each cost is 100/-
if 60% of 100 goods means 60 goods and its cost price is (60*100) 6,000/- ,if they sold at 5% loss its selling price is 5,700/-(loss: 300/- )
rest 40% of 100 goods means 40 goods and is cost price is (40*100) 4,000/- ,if they sell at 10% profit its selling price is 4,400/- (gain: 400/-)
difference b/w gain-loss=100/-
1 good cost price is 100/-.so,100 goods costprice is 10,000/- - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(1)
- let total cp=100
60% of it 60, 60*5/100=3, so cp=60 sp=57 (as 5% loss)
40% of it 40, 40*10/100=4, so cp=40 sp=44 (as 10% profit)
total sp=57+44=101
1 rs profit cp 100
100 rs profit cp 100*100=10000
so goods cp 10000 sp 10100

- consider total goods c.p=100rs
60rs goods sold at 57 (since 5% loss)
40rs goods sold at 44(since 10% profit)
57+44=101 .
Therfore , we can say that on selling 60% of goods at 5% loss and 40% of goods at 10% profit, we can make 1% profit.
given 1% is 100rs
+> 100% will be 100*100=10000. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- let the total cost price of goods is = x
cost price of 60% goods is= 60x/100
cost price of 40% goods is =40x/100
profit=sp-cp=100 (given)
according to question 60% goods are sold at 5% loss so the SP of 60% goods is , sp= 100-5/100 *60x/100
similarly SP of 40% goods at 10% profit is SP=100+10/100 * 40x/100
total sp = sp of 60% goods + sp of 40% goods = 10100x/10000
total cp=x
profit=100= 10100x/10000 -x
100x= 10000*100
x=10000
so the total goods worth 10000 - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
