i) no. greater than 4
ii) 6 appears on at least one die

2. 1/3 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
- (i) Sample space is 1,2,3,4,5,6
probability of getting no. greater than 4 in firs toss is 2/6 =1/3
so probability of getting no. less than 4 is 1-1/3=2/3
Let X denote the no of successe in two tosses of a die. Then x can be 0,1,2
so p(X=0)=probability of no success in first and 2nd toss both =2/3*2/3=4/9
p(X=1)=prob. of success in first and failure in 2nd or vice versa.
= 1/3*2/3+2/3*1/3=4/9
p(x=2)= prob. of success in both toss =1/3*1/3 =1/9
so probability dist. is
X; 0 1 2
