A man invests amount 15860 in name of his three sons A,B&c such a way that after 2,3&4 year they got same amount.If rate of simple interest is 5%.Then ratio of amount invested in Name of A,B&C is
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
5520,5280,5060
If A,B,C are respective amounts, then
A*(1+2*0.05)= B*(1+3*0.05)= C*(1+4*0.05)
A+B+C= 15860
solving
A= 5520
B=5280

- Amount Invested by A, B & c is 7320,4880,3660 respectively
Given A+B+C=15860 ---(i)
And A*2*5/100 =B*3*5/100 =C*4*5/100 or 2A=3B=4C ---(ii)
If solved for A,then substituting values from(ii) in (i)
A+(2/3)A+(2/4)A=15860 or A=7320
Similarly B=4880 & C=3660 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(3)

@ Devendra,
You have considered interest on different amounts as same whereas here they received same total amount after 2,3,4 years as per given statement.
Please check.

- x*5*2:y*5*3:(15860-(x+y))*5*4=1:1:1 here A's amount=x and B's amount=y
2x:3y:(15860-(x+y))4=1:1:1
by solving we get x=7320 y=4880
i.e.,A=7320 B=4880 C=15860-(7320+4880)=3660
A:B:C=7320:4880:3660=6:4:3 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(2)
- Let the amount invested be x, y and z respectively
Then
(x*2*5)/100 = (y*3*5)/100 = (z*4*5)/100
Therefore
10x = 15y = 20z = k
Therefore
x : y : z = 1/10 : 1/15 : 1/20 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
