- He employs 200men. He finds that only a quarter of the work is done in 50 days.
It means 200 men can complete the total work in 200 days.
so 1 work can be completed in 200 days by 200 men
hence remaining 3/4 work can be completed in 100 days by 200*200*(3/4)/100 = 300 men
so he should employ additional 100 men to complete work in time i.e. total 150 days as per contract. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(7) No(0)
- Ans=Additional 100 men are required
200 men, 50 days , 1/4 work ---(i), Remaining days=100
Now these 200 men will work for remaining 100 days also
So work done by 200 men for 100 days=2*1/4=1/2
Total work by 200 men for 150 days=1/4 + 1/2=3/4,
So remaining work=1/4 is to be completed by additional men in 100 days
From (i) => 200 men, 50 days , 1/4 work OR 100 men , 100 days, 1/4 work
So to finish the work in time additional 100 men should be appointed
