ABCD are four point in a plane such that ABD and DBC form two triangle. area of ABD is 10 unit and area of BDC is 20 unit. what is the ratio of length (AD/DC)
Read Solution (Total 8)
-
- base is common for both of the triangles
area(abd)/area(bdc)=10/20
=>(1/2)*bd*h1)/(1/2*bd*h2)=1/2
=>h1/h2=1/2
h1 and h2 are parallel (as they are perpendicular 2 same line)
from this we can say that,
respective angles are same for both the triangle.
so ,
ad/dc=1/2 (ans)

i) Points ADC are collinear
ii) DB is 5 units long and is perpendicular to AC. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(3)
- If ABC are in a straight line and DB is perpendicular to ABC, then
AD/DC= sqrt(41/89) - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(9)
- shalu - triangle is not a right triangle so we cannot apply this 1/2 base height
and two diagrams can be made ....
