A project is assigned to P, Q and R. They decided to work together and make some adjustment with them such that P can leave 3 weeks before the completion and R works only for 4 weeks. So.. P works x-3 weeks, Q works x weeks, and R works only 4 weeks ..
(x-3)/24 + x/36 + 4/48=1..

total work during 4 weeks=4*( 1/24+1/36+1/48) = 0.361
remaining work is 1-.361=0.639

so work done bye p and q =.639-.08333=.55567
which can be done by p and q in 0.55567/(1/24+1/36)=8 weeks
so total weeks=8+4+3=15
