a square with side 5cm mid pt of the sides are joined to form another square if this process is repeated find perimeter of 9th square
Read Solution (Total 3)

- perimeter OF 5 CM SQUARE IS 4*5=20 CM. MID POINT OF THE SQUARE IS 2.5. SO 2 SQUARE perimeter IS 10 CM. 2nd SQUARE perimeter IS HALF OF THE FIRST SQUARE. SO 20/2/2/2/2/2/2/2/2=0.078125

- side of the square is 5cm
side of 9th square=5/256=0.01953
perimeter=4*side=0.078125 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
- forming the square from midpoints if the 1st squ gives the
side of 2nd squ=(5/2)* sqrt(2) by using Pythagoras rule
in the same way to get 9th square side=(5)/(2*8/sqrt(2))= (5*sqrt(2))/16
to get perimeter multiply with 4 gives (5*sqrt(2))/4=1.7677
