if 2 is a root of the equation x2+bx+12=0 and the equation x2+bx+q+0 has equal roots, then q = ?

  x^2+bx+12=0 ---(i) & x^2+bx+q+0 ---(ii)
  Both the eqn. has equal roots say 2 and y as given one root=2
  From (i) Product of roots=2*y=12 or y=6
  For (ii) 2*y=q=2*6=12
