a book has exactly 300 pages,numbered from 1 through 300.if all the pages on which there is a page number that is multiple of 4 are torn out and destroyed.what is the total of all the pages numbers on the pages that remains

• pages in a book are numbered as 1,2,3.....299,300. On removing a page whose page number is divisible by 4 ,page on its back also gets destroyed....for ex :- on removing page 4 ,page 3 also gets destroyed....so after removing all condetional pages we are left with 1,2,5,6,9,10,13,14.........297,298
  we can split it as 1,5,6,.....297 and 2,6,10,....298 sum of both A.p is

  = [(300*301)/2] - [4*(75*76)/2]
  = 45150 - 11400
  = 33750

  sum of remaining numbers=45,001-11,400=33.601

• ANSWER IS 225. 300/4 =75.so there are 75 numbers which are multiple of 4. thus 300-75=225.

• there are 300 PAGES in the book, i.e. 150 papers in that book.
  
  the no of pages divisible by 4= 300/4=75
  
  since while tearing the page no divisible by 4, the previous page no also gets torn. E.g. page no. 3 & 4
  hence we multiply 75 by 2 thus getting 150 pages torn and 150 left.
