Maths Puzzle
A vertical pole and a vertical tower are on the same level ground. From the top of the pole the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is 60 and the angle of depression of the foot of the foot of the tower is 30. Find height of the tower if the height of the pole is 20m
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- sin(30)=20/x .'. x(the distance of depression from the top of the pole)=40
cos(30)=y/40 .'. y(the distance between the pole and the tower)=20(3)^(1/2)
then tan 60,from the angle of elevation give tan(60)=z/y but we already know y
s z=180+20=200m - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(3)
