A ship sailing on a sea contains 3 theives.They altogether have a bag containing 100 gold coins.They are not ready to share it equally,b'coz they are greedy.They all desire to get it for themselves.One of them is a leader.The leader should give an idea such that he should win the majority of five.ie,3votes including himself.He is allowed to give an idea only once.If he does'nt win the majority at the very first time,he'll be thrown into the sea.Give the idea for the leader such that he can earn maximum.

  The leader has to imagine what all will happen if his idea not passed.
  The second person has to take the initiative and he should divide the share for all.His idea also may not be passed.Then only 3 remains in the ship.The 3rd person has to divide.For majority votes he should have one more person's vote.
  So his idea also cannot be passed.So the chance goes to 4th person to divide it among 2.When only 2 people are there,the divider needs only his own vote to win the 50% majority.Since whatever he decides will be accepted.He will opt for 100 gold coins and 0 for the other one.The 3rd person knowing that the 5th person knows his unlucky fate,will therefore take 99 coins and give 1 coin to the 5th person.Out of 3 he will get 2 majority votes one from the 5th person.Similarly understanding all these the second person will give 1 coin to the 4th himself taking 100 by winning 2 votes - 50% majority.
  Finally understanding all these, the first person or the leader will divide , giving 1 coin to 3rd person and 4th.Himself taking 98 coins & winning a majority of 3/5.
