There is a five digit number, where the third number is one higher than the sum of first and second digits. Fourth digit is twice of fifth and third digit is twice the fourth. Second digit is five more than the first digit. What is the number?

Let the five digits number be ABCDE
From given , C=(A+B)+1
C =2D
B=5+A >> C= A+5+A+1 =6+2A ...(1)
D=2E >> C=4E ....(2)
From eqn (2) , if we put E=1 we get C=4 and when sub C=4 in (1) , it won;t satisfy
put E=2 in (2) , C=8 and sub C=8 in (1) ,it will satisfy and A= 1
put E=3 in (2) , C=12 which is not acceptable
Hence C=8, A=1,B=6,D=4,E=2 .
