4 horses are tied on the 4 corners of a square field of 14m length so that each horse can just touch the other two horses.they were able to graze in the area accessible to them for 11 days. What is the number of days that the ungrazed are sufficient for the horses?
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- as per given data area of square field = 196
and area grazed by 4 horses = 4*(90/360*22/7*7^2)=22*7=154
so remaining ungrazed area 196-154=42
if 154 area grazed in 11 days
so 42 area ll b grazed in 3 days

- no of days = 3
length of square = 14 m
=> area of square = 14 m * 14 m = 196 m^2
now , given that each horse can touch other two horses ,
this condition is satisfied only if length of rope = 7 m (i.e. radius of circle since grazed area form a circle)
=> area of circle = grazed area = 22/7 * 7 * 7 = 154 m^2
=> ungrazed area = 196 - 154 = 42 m^2
also , grazed area is sufficient for 11 days i.e. 154 m^2 is grazed for 11 days
therefore by unitary method ,
we get 3 days is sufficient for 42 m^2
=> ans = 3 days
