Alok and Bhanu play the following max-min game.Given the expressin N=19+X*(Y-Z),where X,Y,Z are variables representing single digits(0-9).Alok would like to maximize N while bhanu would like to minimize it. Towards this end Alok chooses a single digit number and Bhanu substitutes this for variable of her choice(X,Y or Z).Alok then choses the next value and Bhsnu, the variable to substitute the value.Finally alok proposes the value for remaining variable. Assuming both play to their optimal strategies. The value of N at the end of game would be???

- use trick for this type ques.......
x*(y-z)=18
x+y-z=11
x-y-z=2
so
19+18=37 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(11) No(5)
- first alok choses 9(as he tries to maximize), bhanu substitutes it in Z
next alok choses 8,bhanu substitutes this in X
next alok choses 7,bhanu places thie in Y
N=19+8(7-9)
=19-16
N=3 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(6) No(5)
- alok choses max numb ..so at first he wil choose 9.. banu vil substitute 9 in y and alok chose nxt max numb 8 banu vil substitut in z and den 7 substitute in x... later substitute in equation 19 + 7*(9-8)=26

- alok wnts 2maximize so he'll choose 9 which bhanu wil substitute n Z bcoz it'll make d largest no -ve..
so Z=9
den alok will choose 8 which bhanu substitutes as Y
so Y=8
den alok takes X=7
so N=19+7(8-9)

- alok chooses 9 inorder to maximise...bhanu substitue 9 to z...so as to minimize alok's game
next alok chooses 8...bhanu substitute it to x...
next alok chooses 7..bhanu substitute it to y
so,19+(8*(7-9))=3 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(2)
- as alok wants to maximize value of expression so first he select 9 ,bhanu substitue 9 in z to get negative value from (y-z),then alok choose 8 and bhanu substitute 8 in x to get large -ve value from x*(y-z) then alok choose 7 and bhanu put 7 in y....ans is 12
there are more possibilites to get differnet answer - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(1)
