If f(x) is divided by (x - a), the remainder is given by f(a).
f(x) = x³ + 4x² - 7x + 12 and a = -3.
f(a) = (-3)³ + 4(-3)² -7(-3) + 12
= -27 + 36 + 21 + 12 = 42
=> 42 should be subtracted from given function to make divisible by (x + 3)
