If f(x) = (1+x+x2+x3+.......x2012)2−x2012
g(x) = 1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011
Then what is the remainder when f(x) is divided by g(x)
Read Solution (Total 3)

- in simple way...
put x=1
f(1)=(2012)^2-1
g(1)=2011
f(1)/g(1)=[(2012)^2-1]/[2011]
=[(2012+1)*(2012-1)]/[2011]
=[(2013)*(2011)]/[2011]
=2013

- kamlesh kumar vishwakarma sir,
f(1)=(1+2012)^2-1=(2013)^2-1 ??
g(1)=2012 ??
f(1)/g(1) =(2014*2012)/2012 =2014 ??

- f(x) = (1+x+x2+x3+.......x2012)2−x2012
g(x) = 1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011
f(x)/g(x)= (1+x+x2+x3+.......x2012)2−x2012/1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011
=(1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011)2−x2012+x2012*2−x2012/1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011
=(1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011)2−x2012/1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011)+ (x2012*2−x2012/1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011).
=x2012*2−x2012+(x2012*2−x2012/1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011)
=x2012*2−x2012(1+1/1+x+x2+x3+.......x2011).
