A plane goes from Chicago to Columbus and then comes back. It takes the same time to travel in either ways. It leave Chicago early in the morning 0644 LOCAL TIME and reaches the destination Columbus at 0849 LOCAL TIME. In the same evening it leave Columbus at 1625 hrs LOCAL TIME and reaches the destination at 1638 LOCAL TIME. Find the time that the plane takes to travel either way?

• total time (departure from chicago and arrival to chicago)=> 16.38 - 06.44 = 9 hours 54 mins.
  time stayed in columbus=> 16.25 - 8.49 = 7 hours 36 mins.
  so, time for total flight=> 9.54 - 7.36= 2 hours 18 mins.
  time taken in either way=> 1 hour 09 mins.

• in above question its talking about local time means definitely some time zone difference........
  time taken by flight (+,_) time zone difference = time difference
  X+Y = (08:49 - 06: 44)
  X+Y = 125 min .......................... (1)
  and
  X-Y = (16:38 - 16:25)
  X-Y = 13 min ..........................(2)
  from (1) and (2)
  x = 69 min

• data insufficient. If the flight takes same time to travel in either ways ATQ, then how can it be different - 2hr 5 min and 1hr 13 min??

  in the morning session it takes total of 2hrs5mints to reach its destination...
  in the evening it takes 13mints to reach itz destination....so total time in mrng nd evening--->2hrs5mints+13mints=2hrs18mints...
  but in ouestion they time taken to travel in either ways...so exactly half of that....i.e@ans=1hr9mints

  Adjust the time for ease of calc,
  06.44(+16)mins->(07.00am)
  07.00-16.38( 9hr.38min)
  Then add that 16min (9hr.38min+16min= 9hr.54 mins)
