Maths Puzzle
A and B start running simultaneously. A runs from point P to point Q and B from point Q to point P. A's speed is 6/5 of B's speed. After crossing B, if A takes 5/2 hr to reach Q, how much time does B take to reach P after crossing A?
A.
3 hr 6 min
B.
3 hr 16 min
C.
3 hr 26 min
D.
3 hr 36 min
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- The speed of A =6/5 of B
then A/B =6/5 ==> so the speed ratio is A:B =6:5
so we can assume that A= 60 kmph, B= 50 kmph
the total distance for P to Q = X
after crossing B atakes 5/2 hrs to reach Q
with the speed of 60 kmph A can travel 150km
(X-150)/60 = 150/50
X=180+150
x =330
B need to travel 180 km after crossing A with speed of 50 kmph
180/50=3.6 hrs
=3 hr 36 min - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
