- the smallest four digit is 1000.given that it should not greater than 4000.so the first digit must be any of 1,2 or 3.the second,third and fourth digits may be 0,1,2,3 and 4.so total no of ways is 3*5*5*5=375.
375 integers are from 1000 to 3999.
4000 is also included.
