Maths Puzzle
In a survey, 20% of a town has a car, and 10% have a bike. 1/3rd of the car owners also own a bike. What proportion of the town does not own either a car or a bike?
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- Town size = 200
Car = 20% = 40
Bike = 10% = 20
33% of car owners have both a bike and a car.
C/b = 33% of 40 = 13
Alter to show owners with bike only is 7
Car only would be 27
Car and bike would be 13
Total = 47 (in numerical form) Which is 47 of 200 and the percentage is 23.5 % of owners that have a tangible asset, therefore 73.5% of the town does not own a bike or car - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
