I lost rs.68 in two races.My second race loss is rs.6 more than the first race.My friend lost rs.4 more than me in the second race.what is the amount lost by my friend in the second race?
Read Solution (Total 6)
-
- let loss in 1st race be x then
loss in 2nd race=x+6
so, x+x+6=68
x=31
loss in 2nd race=31+6=37
amount lost by friend=37+4=41
ans: 41 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(9) No(0)
- since second race loss is 6 more than first
first race loss is 68-6/2=31
so second race loss is 37
friend lost 4 more than his companion in second race
so loss in second race by friend = 37+4=41 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(5) No(0)
- Total Loss=68
T.Loss/2=68/2=34
34 34
diff b/w two should b 6 so
6/2=3
add and subtrct 3 to each other such that we can get 1st and 2nd race(as mentioned in the qn that 2nd race is 6 greater than 1st)
34-3 34+3
31 37
now friend's loss is 4 greater than 2nd race of me
37+4
=41
Ans=41 - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Suppose loss in first race be x. than loss in second race will be x+6
Now total loss in both the races is x+x+6=68
From this loss in first race i.e. x becomes 31
so in second race will be 37
Now as friend lost 37+4=41
Ans is 41 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Let x+6 be the amount lost in second race
x+(x+6) = 68
Means x=31 i.e. in second race he lost 37.
hence his friend lost rs 41
41 - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Ans 41 1st race 31 2nd race 37 so his frd=37+4=41
