I lost rs.68 in two races.My second race loss is rs.6 more than the first race.My friend lost rs.4 more than me in the second race.what is the amount lost by my friend in the second race?

• let loss in 1st race be x then
  loss in 2nd race=x+6
  so, x+x+6=68
  x=31
  loss in 2nd race=31+6=37
  amount lost by friend=37+4=41
  ans: 41

  6/2=3
  add and subtrct 3 to each other such that we can get 1st and 2nd race(as mentioned in the qn that 2nd race is 6 greater than 1st)

• Suppose loss in first race be x. than loss in second race will be x+6
  Now total loss in both the races is x+x+6=68
  From this loss in first race i.e. x becomes 31
  so in second race will be 37
  Now as friend lost 37+4=41
