A reduction of 10% in the price of a pen enabled a trader to purchase 9 more for Rs.540. What is the reduced price of the pen?
Read Solution (Total 1)
-
- let the initial price of one pen = x Rs.
so no. of pens purchased in Rs. 540= 540/x
now reduced price of one pen= x-x*10/100 =9x/10
now no. of pens purchased through this new reduced rate of pen= 540/9x*10 = 600/x
now,
according to question,
600/x - 500/x = 9
x= 60/9
therefore reduced price of pen = 9x/10 = 9/10 * 60/9 = 6 ans - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)
