A man covered a certain distance at some speed. If he had moved 3 kmph faster, he would have taken 40 minutes less. If he had moved 2 kmph slower, he would have taken 40 minutes more. What is the the distance in km?

- suppose distance = d and normal distance = x
now a/c if he had moved 3 kmph faster, he wud hv taken 40 min less. so
(d/x)-(d/x+3) = 40/60 ---- (1)
and if he had moved 2 kmph slower, he wud hv takeen 40 minutes more. so
(d/x-2)-(d/x) = 40/60 ..... (2)
solving both equation we get d =40. so distance = 40 km.
