You've got someone working for you for seven days and a gold bar to pay them. The gold bar is segmented into seven connected pieces. You must give them a piece of gold at the end of every day. If you are only allowed to make two breaks in the gold bar, how do you pay your worker?

break at first link and third link. It makes that bar into one piece , two pieces and four pieces gold bars. First day give one piece gold bar. Second day give two pieces gold bar and get back one piece gold bar. Third day give the one piece. Fourth day give four pieces and get back both two pieces and one piece gold bar. Fifth day give one piece. Sixth give two and get back one. Seventh give the one piece gold bar. Hence, -|--|---- will solve the problem.

on 2nd day, take first seg back and give piece of 2 segments.
