. There are two trees in a lawn. One grows at a rate 3/5 of the other in 4 years. If the total growth of trees is 8 ft. What is the height of the smaller tree after 2 years
Read Solution (Total 2)
-
- Assume the growth of big tree after 4 yrs. is 'x' ft.
so the height of small tree is x*3/5 = 3/5 x.
As the total is 3/5 x + x = 8 we get x= 5 ft.
so in 4 years the big tree has grown to 5 ft height.
In two years it was of 5/2 ft. ht.
So 5/2 * 3/5 = 3/2 ft = 1.5 ft was the ht.of small tree after 2 years - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(4) No(1)
