If a pipe can fill the tank within 60% of an hour. But due to leak it takes 3 min more. Now the tank is full then how much time will it take to empty the tank throught the leak.?
Read Solution (Total 5)
-
- ANS-7h 48min
EXPLANATION:60% of an hour=36min.
if capacity of the tank is L
then
the pipe fills L in 36 min
then in 1 min L/36
and in 3 min 3*L/36=L/12
L/12 leaks in 39 min.
then L will leak in 12*39 min=468min=7h 48min. - 13 years agoHelpfull: Yes(14) No(0)

- there's a formula:
time to leak completely = ((complete time taken during fill with leak[39])*(time taken to fill without leak)) / (additional time taken to fill due to Leak[3])
=(39*36)/3 - 12 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(0)
- It will take 39 minutes, because 60% of an hour is 36 min & due to leakage it takes 3 min extra so total will be 36+3=39.
