One day Eesha started 30 min late from home and reached her office 50 min late while driving 25% slower than her usual speed. How much time in min does eesha usually take to reach her office from home?
10) In the simple subtraction problem below some single digits are replaced by letters .Fined the value of 7A+5D+6CD?
Read Solution (Total 15)

- let time taken by eesha daily = x
and usual speed = y
(x+20)*(.75*y) = x*y extra time taken = 50-30 = 20min
.75x+15 = x
.25x = 15
x = 60 min - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(63) No(16)
- Since she is late by 30 min at home, she has reached her office 50 min late.. If she is 0 min late at home, then she would take 50-30=20 min to reach office. So t= 20 min... Speed reduced by 25 percent which means speed is 3/4s when she is late. And time is the t+20 when she is late
Now distance is same in both the cases.
So d= s * t ; when she is not late..
d= 3/4s(t +20) ; when she is late.
Equating these two, we get t as 60 min - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(38) No(1)
- new speed =75/100*usual speed
new time=4/3*usual time
new time-usual time=20
usual time =60 min - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(10) No(5)
- Let Us Assume That She Normally Drives At a Speed of 100 meters/minute
and 25% less Speed Implies 75 meters/minute
Let Time Taken To Reach Home Is "x" in Normal Speed
Since The Distance Travelled Is Same
100*(x)=75*(x+2)
By Solving Above Equation We Get x=60minutes - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(2)
- 15 min..... as 20 min she takes from home to office..so 20*3s/4=t*s so t=15 min.

- simple formula
Change in time=((b/a)-1)*original time
25% slower than her usual speed so 3/4 th of her usual speed.
a/b=3/4;
b/a=4/3
Original time=20/((4/3)-1)
=20/(1/3)=60min - 8 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(0)

- answer is 15 min
30+d/3s/4=50
d/s=15 - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(10)
- let distance =x
usual speed 1
25% slower means spedd= 34
difference in time is 20 minutes so
4x3-x=20
solving we get x=60 so
time will be 60 minutes

- reaching time from home to offce is only travel time i,e time taken by car to reach
as she is slower than regular days she take 20 min to reach (50-30=20);
letin late contion,time taken=20
let distance is 100m/s
therfoe speed =5m/s which is slower than normal
let norml speed is s
(3/4)*s=5
s=20/3m/s
therfore orinal time taken =100/(20/3)=15 min only
i dont know how the above stupid persons said 60 min - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(3)
- She started from her home 30 min. late and reached her office 50 min. late.
So, she took extra (50-30)=20 min. time
let her usual speed is S and distance between her home and office is D.
We know, D = S X T..............(1)
25% of S = (3/4)S
Extra time = (T+20)min.
As the distance is same in both cases, so,
D=(3/4)S X (T+20).................(2)
Equating (1) and (2),
T = 60 min. which is the usual time
Hope you all got it. - 6 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
