a) 4 AM
b) 3.16 PM
c) 4.54 AM
d) 3 AM

- monday 10 AM to Friday 3 PM 101hrs.
Thus clock loses 606 mins
Thus correct time is 3 PM -606min i.e 4.54 AM. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(64) No(31)

- the clock loses 6 min every hour
so,54 min of the clock=60 min actual
1 min of the clock=60/54 min actual
so,1hr of the clock=10/9 hour actual
101 hr(4*24+5) of the clock=101*10/9 hour actual
=1010/9=112 2/9 hour actual
so the time will be 2.14(approx) am on saturday. - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(30) No(5)
- BUT shouldn't 606 min be added to 3am to get the actual time?coz clock is losing 6 min.So actual time should be plus to 3AM.

- time from 10 am on monday to 3pm on friday = 101 hours.
in 1 hour it loses 6 minutes
therefore, in 101 hours it will lose 6*101 = 606 minutes.
so, the actual time must be 3pm+606 minutes! is it??

- c) 4.54 A.M
Solution:
Total hours from Monday 10.00 AM to Friday 3.00 PM =101 HOURS
The clock loses 6 minutes every hour. In 101 hours it will lose 101 x 6 =606 minutes. ie 10 hours 06 minutes.
To find the actual time, calculate 10 hours 6 min backwards from Friday 3.00 PM which is 4 .54 AM
Hence the actual time would be 4 .54 AM when clock shows 3.00 PM on Friday. - 10 years agoHelpfull: Yes(8) No(8)
- there is no answer in the options.. dont know why some guys go back to the time to find actual time.. i can give u clear explanation..if it starts at 10.00 am on monday after 1hr it has to show 11 but it is showing 10.54 and next 1hr has to show 11.54 but it is showing 11.46 am..if we want to find out the actual time we need to go to front (means greater than the faulty clock) not back..the answer is 2.12 am on saturday. dont go back

a) 4 AM b) 3.00 AM c) 4.54 AM d) None of these
Ans: (d)
The clock loses 6 minutes every hour. Hence in 24 hours it loses 144 minutes.
From Monday 10 A.M. to Friday 10A.M it is 4 days.
The clock loses in this four days totally 144 x 4 = 576minutes.
From Friday 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. it is five hours and during this period the clock loses further
30 minutes.
Thus totally the clock loses 576 + 30 = 606 minutes -> 10 hours and 6 minutes.
Hence the correct time when the faulty clock shows 3 P.M. is
3 + 10 hours and 6 minutes -> Saturday 1.06 AM.

- the correct answer should be 4.54 am
since from Monday 10 a.m. to Friday 3.00 pm we have 101 hrs, so the clock shud loose 6*101 = 606 min.
so 3 pm-606 min = 4.54am - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(3) No(6)

there fore time at 3 pm = 4:54am - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(3)
- its not 3pm+101 minutes @nikshubha sharma
for example consider the time at 10am on monday
then the time shown by the clock at 11am on the same day is 10:54am(as the clock delays)
therefore final answer 3pm -- 606 minutes - 11 years agoHelpfull: Yes(2) No(1)

- it should be 2:13 on saturday because the actual clock is advance not delayed
- 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(1)
- actual clock must be in advance so ans must be 3.00 PM + delayed time.
delayed time for 1 day = 24 * 6 = 144 min.
delayed time for 4 days = 4*144 = 576 min. ==>> (delayed time up to friday 10 AM).
so delayed time at 3PM friday = 576 min + (5*6) = 606 min ==>> 10 hr 6 min..
faulty clock shows 10 hr 6 min less than original clock so original clock must show 10hr 6 min advanced to faulty clock
so original clock time = faulty clock time + 10hr 6 min ==> 3AM + 10 hr 6 min ==> 1 hr 6 min on saturday - 9 years agoHelpfull: Yes(1) No(0)

- total actual time gap between monday 10 AM to friday 3 PM =96+5=101 hrs
as , clock looses 6 min. per hr= 1/6 th of a hr.
total time lost =101*6=606 min.
lost time = 10 hrs + 6 min
therefore, subtract lost time from actual time to get ans. - 7 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- Actually all of the members answered this question not understand the questin correctly..
For example let a clock slows down by 1 hr a day..after three days the loss will be 3 hrs (say)
consider that question, "at a specified time shown what is the actual time??" means the time should be greater than the given time...Let go into the problem with th understanding of the slow down clocks
For monday after resetting clock the hour runs 14 hrs
for tuesday, wednesday, thursday, for everyday there should be 24 hrs
for friday upto the specified shown time the clock runs for 15 hrs
then the total time should be (14+24+24+24+15)
totally 101 hours..
it given that for every hour the clock losses 6 mins..then the total lost time in mins 6*101=606
now to get the actual time the lost time should be added to the given time (3:00 pm)..
Thus convert lost time in hours, we get 1 hr 6 min..(606/60=1.1hrs==>1hrs +(0.1*60)mins==>1 hr 6 mins)
then simply add this to the given time we get 04:06 pm
Thus 04:06pm is the right answer...

- Total time passed in the faulty clock = Monday 10 am to Friday 3 pm = 24 x 4 + 5
hours = 96
and 5 hours = 101 hrs
54 min in the faulty clock = 60 minutes of the correct clock
101 hrs in the faulcty clock = ?
10154×60 = 112.2 Hrs.
96 Hrs + 16.2 Hrs
Friday 10 am + 16 hrs = Saturday 2am
0.2 x 60 min = 12 min
So Saturday 2.12 min AM - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
- monday 10 AM to saturaday 10 Am=96hrs
saturday 10 Am to saturday 3Pm =5hrs
so total=96+5=101 hrs.
now clock loses 6 min per hour.
So it will lose 101*6 =606min in 101 hr.
606min/60=10 1/4 hr.
so the original time will be 3PM +10 1/10hr=1.06 Am Saturday - 5 years agoHelpfull: Yes(0) No(0)
